Why Choose Wool:
Warm in winter, cool in summer
Wool is a pure and natural product from our pastures with a 1001 benefits for your well-being, your comfort and your health.
Wool grows on grass. What could be more simpler than sunshine, water, grass and a sheep…for producing a natural fiber that is more sophisticated and more evolved than any fibre that mankind has ever successfully produced.
If you look at a wool fiber under a microscope, you can see that its surface is made up of scales, one on top of another. It is this natural biological structure that provides the best insulation and the greatest comfort.
An unequalled source of comfort in all seasons, providing excellent thermal insulation, it protects you from both the heat and the cold.
Wool is not only suitable for winter duvets, but also summer duvets that are lighter and much more comfortable than synthetic duvets.
Aren’t sheep found in all climates?
In high mountains as well as in the desert!
Wool is the thermo-regulator for your nights and unparalleled well-being.
It absorbs moisture and perspiration, which helps your body maintain an optimal comfort temperature.
As a completely natural fiber, wool is capable of absorbing around 30% of its weight in moisture without giving the feeling of being damp. It then slowly releases this moisture. This natural control allows the prevention of “thermal shock” due to perspiration cooling on the skin.
BECAUSE YOUR SLEEP IS PRECIOUS
It has been scientifically proven, a good, refreshing sleep is necessary for a healthy and active life.
Wool bedding will give you quality sleep.
What is sleep?
Sleep is divided into stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, depending on how deep it becomes. REM stage corresponds to the dreaming stage.
The normal pattern is made up of periods of deep sleep (stages 3 and 4) and periods of dreaming punctuated by lighter sleep and short waking periods.
Although this pattern is fairly stable, the periods of deep sleep and dreaming can be disrupted by unfavourable factors in the sleeping environment. This can lead to a serious deterioration in the quality of the sleep.
How does it work?
The human body is made up of more than 75% of water. We lose 500 ml of water each day through the respiratory system and through perspiration. A considerable amount of this moisture is lost during sleep.
Why sleep in wool?
Sleeping in wool can increase the amount of REM sleep. A wool duvet can provide an increase of 25% to stage 4 sleep.
Wool bedding leads to a better cooling of the skin temperature, in harmony with the natural biological rhythm (with polyester the skin temperature increases) thanks to wool’s natural properties for absorbing water. Result: you perspire less, you lose less moisture. What is lost is mostly reabsorbed by the wool, so you feel drier under a wool duvet.
Also, studies carried out by the Polytechnic of Wales (the ergonomics department) have shown a lower heart rhythm and more favourable microclimates next to the skin in subjects sleeping with a wool duvet, as opposed to those sleeping with a polyester duvet.
WOOL, A HIGH PERFORMANCE FIBRE, WITH UNIQUE QUALITIES
BECAUSE IT IS A TOP OF THE RANGE PRODUCT
Wool has changed, along with the way it is processed. Do you remember the woollen blankets our grandmothers used to use? Did they used to “scratch”? Were they heavy and stiff? Forget those! Technology has transformed them into light, gentle, soft, and fluffy duvets. It is now possible to make them machine washable!
How does it work?
A special high technology called needling allows us to obtain a wool filling that is both light and dense by weaving the wool horizontally and vertically with long needles. The wool filling formed in this way is then placed and held in its silky satin cotton cover with careful stitching so as to retain its fluffiness and to prevent the formation of “empty” areas.
Why wool? Why not feathers?
Thanks to the curly structure and elasticity of wool fiber, a wool duvet retains its shape and its springiness for longer than a feather duvet. The duvet filling will always remain consistent and with no cold areas.
Also, a wool duvet will age much better than a feather duvet, because there will be no collection of dust (a source of dust mites) due to the inevitable wear of the feathers caused by rubbing.
To look after a sheep also means shearing its wool once a year, it is an obvious fact and a necessity. Did you know that goose feathers are plucked from living animals? Wool is also ethical.
